2015 Fall Gallery Night in Fort Worth

September 11, 2015 by Ginger

It’s that time of year again where we’re crossing our fingers for a break in the triple digit heat, anxious for fall. This of course means we’re ready for the 2015 Fall Gallery Night in Fort Worth’s Cultural District. This year it falls on September 12th, with most participants open from 12 noon through 9pm. The Fort Worth Art Dealer’s Association, or FWADA, invites us twice a year to mosey down the bricks of Camp Bowie and take in all the visual art the boulevard offers. Gallery Night is free and open to the public, and we’re hoping also marks the beginning of cooler, fall-like temperatures.

Living off the Bricks – Camp Bowie Boulevard

September 8, 2015 by Ginger

Yes, but you live off the bricks!

The first time I heard this was from a real estate colleague responding to my impatience (OK, whining) over the fact that our Arlington Heights home, originally built in 1922, needed work that was not progressing as fast as I would have liked. It took me a moment, then I realized “off the bricks” meant off Camp Bowie Boulevard, in which Arlington Heights sits off a key chunk of.

Camp Bowie Boulevard is indeed lined with bricks which have been continually replaced over the years, but in doing so, keeps true to it’s history. As an excerpt from our History of Arlington Heights page tells us

Present day Camp Bowie Blvd. was originally called Arlington Heights Blvd. and was paved with creosote soaked wooden blocks. In 1921 it was renamed Camp Bowie Blvd., and was paved with brick in 1928.”

Today’s Camp Bowie offers something for everyone: boutique-style shops, art galleries, bakeries and world-class museums and restaurants. The boulevard stretches for a total of nine miles from the Fort Worth Cultural District to Highway 820, however, not surprising, my favorite part is our little stretch that lines Arlington Heights. Come see for yourself!

Later this week we’ll cover a bi-annual event off the bricks known as Gallery Night…stay tuned!

Welcome to 817 Realty

August 5, 2015 by Ginger

Come on in, relax and make yourself at home. This website project has been in the making for quite some time, and now I’m thrilled to share it with you. The purpose of this site, and what we wanted to offer, is covered in detail here, but, in short, we wanted to offer a real estate search with no strings attached.

So, what does that mean?

I would like visitors interested in searching properties to search as often and as long as they like without being nagged to do anything. You will always have the option to register to save your favorites and receive alerts, etc., but it is not required. This was important to me — to provide value and resources that would earn your repeat visits based on the content we offer, not force you to give your information. It’s on us to provide helpful and useful content in our news articles and searches that, over time, will allow us to be your go-to resource. And with that, away we go…
