Storms and Branches and Hail, Oh My!

March 26, 2016 by Ginger

view of a cloudy sky through bare tree branchesSpring. That one word conjures up many pleasant images and scents – fresh flowers, budding trees and here in North Texas, fields of bluebonnets, all tell us it’s spring time. Unfortunately it also brings unpredictable and potentially severe weather, and recently we’ve had a little of both. But, this post isn’t about weather or how to predict it, it’s about Fort Worth storm debris left behind and how to get rid of it.

Storm-based Tree Limbs & Brush Collections

After some of these recent storms, you might walk outside to find large chunks of your trees previously in the air are now on the ground. The city recently posted how they can assist. Check out this article to see how much you can put out for pickup, and how to cut and stack debris. In addition, you are welcome to use any of the the three city drop-off stations. Just know you need to “bring a recent water bill, driver’s license or other official ID to prove you’re a resident.”

Bulk Trash Collection Days

Keep in mind with this higher-than-normal volume of bulk debris, various collections may get behind as their trucks fill-up faster than usual, so they may slide into the next day or two. If you already have items out, just be patient, they will be collected!

For other bulk items, remember the bulk trash pickup week for Arlington Heights is the week of the fourth Monday of the month. You can start loading items on your curb the weekend prior to that fourth week. For details or to look up services based on any Fort Worth address, check out the Bulk Waste Collection page on the city website.
